Postpartum

A very important and sensitive time for the new family – with calm, patience and good care.

Postpartum care

The postpartum period is a very important and sensitive time for the new family. To be able to enjoy it, you need calm, patience and good care. After the birth I am glad to take over your care once you are discharged. I accompany you through your postpartum period, monitor wound healing after birth injuries and watch that your uterus recovers well. I support you with breastfeeding, observe your newborn's development, feeding behaviour and the healing of the umbilical cord stump, check weight and answer all sorts of questions.

You are entitled to care for up to 12 weeks after the birth, and you can continue to consult me about breastfeeding difficulties until the end of the weaning period. You are also entitled to care if your child has to stay in the children's hospital, if you are parents of an adopted child (adoptive as well as birth parents), and after a miscarriage.

Midwifery services are covered by health insurance. It is an advantage to get in touch and get to know each other early, so that you are very well cared for in this new phase of life. The sooner you look for a midwife, the better your chances of finding one.
